chapter 11 documents

In the chapter 11 documents they were talking about all the Mongol history  and many of the views from different areas.  The Chinese viewed the Mongol ad foreign conquerors  and illegitimate as Chinese rulers. they claimed that the Mongols treated the Chinese as slaves which I can understand because the Mongols were very dominate and mean.  why did the mogol's feel the need to kind of bully ? I feel like the mogols were bully's in a type of way because of how it they treated people. I understand that they were just more abrupt than other people and groups but I think they didn't need to steal and be so dominant and have to "rule" over everyone.
